Visual Arts:  Zentangle Workshop

On wellness day, Ms Anthousa Sotiriades hosted Zentangle workshops for our pupils. Zentangle is an American method for drawing, which not only promotes concentration and creativity but at the same time increases personal well-being. The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns

A huge empty mobile awaited pupils upon entry, and as the day proceeded, more and more little zentangle artworks filled it.

Pupils could cut and paste, or draw zentangle patterns on different shapes they could choose from. A wide variety of media was available, and everyone tried to create something special. Strange how fast time can fly if one is busy!

Finally, the result can be seen in our foyer!

Leago Letsoalo is Beaulieu College’s mavrick entrepreneur.

Leago, currently in grade 10,  has entered the Alan Gray Orbis Entrepereurial Challenge (AEGC) Ventures Pitching competition. After the panel of judges reviewed some 350 individual pitches from across the country, the business pitch involving Leago Letsoalo has been placed in the Top 10 of the AGEC Ventures Pitching competition.  This is a remarkable achievement for the Leago as well as for your school.

There are only two businesses that will be selected for the business investment  which are as follows:

  • Business in Position 1: R45,000 worth of business funding
  • Business in Position 2: R30,000 worth of business funding

Leago will make her pitch online, using the MS Teams platform.  Two of the Alan Gray entrepreneurship pitch specialists – Ms Kelebogile Sephoti, and Mr Kyle Dodds – will be available to the contestants with their pitches to the judges.  They will provide the contestants with some tools and tips to make their pitch the best that it can possibly be.
